Kevin McNamara of the ProJo previews tonight's opener-- and notes that Providence's Shaurad Curry is not expected to play. The status of Matthes and McNeal remains 'day to day'. Looks like Dominic James will have to come up big for MU to take this road opener -- and as McNamara points out, James has elevated his play since his breakout freshman season.
The Associated Press preview is here. While the report has no new news to report on Matthews or McNeal, we do get this from Wesley:
``We have grown a lot, with the win against Duke and loss to North Dakota State and Wisconsin, we are starting to understand what it is going to take,'' said Matthews. ``It is a dogfight from here on out, night in and night out. Providence is looking good but we will be ready. We are maturing and going in the direction we want to go.''Eric Silver previews the game for Marquette Hoops. Here's the link.
