Yep. Just another player in the long list of players Mike Deane would have recruited.
Definitely two camps of Marquette fans. I maintain our cup is nicely full.
Enjoy his freshman year at Marquette: with TC, that will be his best! Then the long, slow slide to mediocrity. He will eventually lack mental toughness, lack focus, lack...... (according to the $1.7 million man)

Jack, wow, what a crystal ball.
Jack, do you mean like DWade, Diener, Novak, and all the others that Crean "ruined"?
And Jack how about the others that are playing in Europe and around the globe. Kinsella and Grimm are playing extended basketball careers. But people want to see what they want to see. Go Marquette! And get towels for the rest.
Brewcity,
I'll give you those 3, but raise you: Merritt, Matthews, James, McNeil, Fitzgerald, Lott, Terry Sanders, Des Mason, Bart Miller, Kinsella, Amoroso, Barone and on and on. Fitz was better his frosh year at Tulane than his is now.

And they were all supposed to be NBA All-Stars? Now they are walking basket cases seeing psychiatrists barely capable of dribbling a basketball? Wow, you are seeing a lot more than me. Thanks for pointing this out.
Jack,
If you think the book is closed on James, McNeal and Matthews now, you are sadly mistaken. Let's talk about how they turned out 2-3 years from now, when TC's work with them is done.
If Fitz still played on a weak team like Tulane, he would probably average 20 ppg. Not because of better coaching there, but because he would have to carry the scoring load.
Bart Miller and Brian Barone? They both had NBA written all over them. Crean can't turn every six-foot suburban white kid into a starting NBA point guard.
Dameon Mason left for what he thought would be greener pastures (after TC had him playing like a star) at LSU--where he's now off the team. Crean's fault that he couldn't make it there?
Drop names all you want. Crean hasn't accomplished squat since Wade left. If Diener and Novak were so great why couldn't TC squeeze even a tourney win out of them? If he was making 500K a year the job he's doing would be suitable, at 1.7 mil MU is getting ripped off. End of story.
Wait, not quite end of story. You mean if we hired a $500K coach and he went W:10, L=20 you would be harping and saying if he was paid $100K a year it would be ok. But a $100K coach being paid $500K, what a rip off? Then if we hired a coach for $100K and he went w:1 L:30 and you would say, $100K what a rip off he should be paid $10K. Where is this story going?
How can people possibly be content with the current state of the program? It must be great to strive for mediocrity. I'm at a loss to even describe how Kinsella and Grimm even made it on here as positive reflections on Crean.
TC actually reminds me of DePaul's Pat Kennedy, brought in a bunch of blue chips (Q Richardson, B Simmons, S Hunter) but couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Firing Crean doesn not automatically mean we take steps backwards like DePaul has after Kennedy's departure.
Why are you creating a crisis? There will be losses. There will be more victories. Why should we jump on the panic wagon.
Ask Kentucky fans if they'd take Tubby Smith back after what he's done in Minnesota and what Gillespie's done in Kentucky.
How about asking Marquette fans if they regretted pushing Rick Majerus out? We were REAL happy with Dukiet right???
C'mon...as mentioned earlier, if we make the NCAAs this year, it will be the first time in almost 30 years that a Marquette teams has gone to the tournament three years in a row.
At this point, I am satisfied with Crean. The best coach that we have had since McGuire using any measuring stick possible.
