Bono weighs in on "Streets" controversy

Many have conversed with Marquette's Associate Athletics Director, Craig Pintens, to bring back U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" for the Marquette's Player Introductions.

Clearly, with the poll (on your right) running 4 to 1 against Fatboy Slim, the masses have spoken.

Craig suggested if I could deliver Bono, we'd have a deal.

Unfortunately, Bono is in Africa, but I got him to send a video message to Craig:

  1. Which fatboy slim song? Weapon of choice?

  2. Everytime I hear "Streets", hair stands up on the back of my neck because I think of 2002-2003, after I transferred to MU. "Streets" is synonymous with one of the most profound memories and moments in my life: the Final Four run.

Being an alum, it greatly upsets me that this change was made.

    BRING BACK STREETS!!

  3. I'm all for change...but you can't mess with 'Streets'.

  4. Not to mention the fact that "Streets" vaguely resembled the Chicago Bulls' intro music, which tapped into the subconscious of Jordan-era fans everywhere and lent MU a heightened aura of mystique.

    I am chagrined.
