6'10" JUCO forward commits to MU

Monterale Clark, a 6'10" forward from Hill College in Texas, verbally committed to Marquette. The commitment was first reported by the blog Texas Basketball Inc late last night and was verified/reported by Todd Rosiak today. Mark Miller at Wishoops has an informative report on Clark as well.

The kid obviously has talent -- per a poster at MUScoop, Clark was ranked as high as #43 in the class of 2008 according to HoopScoop before transferring high schools and academic concerns slowed his route into a D1 program.

Originally from Milwaukee, Clark projects to be a forward at MU. At 6'10" but only 208 pounds, he'll obviously need to add some weight to his frame. Clark is averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds and nearly three block a game so far this season.

Clark is the second player to commit to the 2010 class for Buzz Williams, joining 6'5" high school junior Aaron Bowen from Jacksonville. MU has one scholarship remaining for the 2010 class. To see how Clark fits into MU's roster, check out the MUScoop Scholarship Table.

With Clark in the fold, Marquette will have four (!) players on campus in 2010 who are at least 6'9" or taller (Clark will join Brett Roseboro, Liam McMorrow and Chris Otule).

The guys at MU Scoop are talking this one up.

  1. I wish Clark the best of luck at Marquette. I have no judgement on him till I see him play. From what has been posted, he appears to have Trend Blackledge freak athleticism that may get him highlights on ESPN SC.
