Marquette hits the Bradley Center floor for the first time this season when the Warriors host an exhibition game against St. John's of Minnesota on Saturday at 1pm Marquette Standard Time. MUTV Sports will broadcast the game.
With very little returning experience, a raft of highly anticipated newcomers and plenty of unseasoned returning talent, the exhibition and the early season games ought to be quite interesting. Jae Crowder, Vander Blue, Reggie Smith, Jamail Jones, Davante Gardner, Junior Cadougan, Chris Otule and Erik Williams (did I forget anybody?) will each look to break into the rotation with MU's more established core of Butler, Johnson-Odom, Buycks and Fulce.
Let's get out of Saturday with a healthy roster. MU officially opens the season next week against Prairie View A&M.
Todd Warner and the team at MUTV Sports filed this preview.
Buzz met with media -- as did Fulce, Crowder and DJO.
Onto the media links of note ---
Rush The Court picks MU to finish 5th in the Big East.
To transition into the season Todd Rosiak hosted an online chat on Thursday afternoon. This one is particularly good -- Todd covers a host of topics with his readers.
Gary Parrish picks MU to finish 6th in the Big East. MU updated its broadcast situation yesterday too announcing a new agreement with TWC Sports32.
Yesterday IWB posted a solid interview with DJO that you should check out as well. DJO discussed his growth as a player and assesses his new teammates.
Also, we missed this late last month -- here's Dennis Krause's season preview from Sports32 Weekly.
