Marquette's NCAA Tournament chances are very nearly on life support after back-to-back losses to Georgetown and St. John's this week. The Warriors now stand at 15-11 overall and 6-7 in the BIG EAST. MU has lost five of its last seven conference games and will look to get back on track on Saturday night when Seton Hall comes to town.
Here is a look at the week that was for Marquette hoops:
- All hope is not lost based on MU's strong strength of schedule, and the realization that (earlier this week) the Warriors were one of 321 teams which lacked a road win against the RPI top 25. As always, bracketology was on our minds.
- With a fan base that is increasingly agitated with the performance of this year's team and criticism of Buzz Williams rising with some, Dr. Blackheart took a look at Buzz relative to other coaches who were on the carousel a few years ago.
- MU had an important home game against St. Johns and fell in one of the season's most disappointing games. MUTV recapped the loss and Pudner took on the boo birds.
- Despite the loss the emergence of Chris Otule in the season's final month is noteworthy but with MU's recent struggles, problems at the point have come to the forefront.
